Our Story
Hi there! Thank you for visiting us at Higher Ground Lawn Care & Lighting. I’m JP, the owner around here. My wife and I started this company on the side of my full-time job as a way to save money. Little did we know, my job would be eliminated soon after — presenting me with a choice: find another job building someone else’s business, or start my own.
You guessed it: Higher Ground was born out of that defining moment. I’ve always loved the outdoors, and starting this company felt like a natural fit — fueled by memories of running barefoot across my grandfather’s cool, lush grass under a big oak tree.
But I wanted Higher Ground to be more than just another lawn care company. As a Christian, I wanted a purpose-driven business with a higher calling:
