Many factors influence what treatments you need to be done throughout the year to care for your lawn. Temperature (soil and air), soil type, moisture levels, and grass type vary in different regions of the country. Throughout the state of Texas, one even needs to consider how well certain grass types of ill grow depending on where in our great state they are located. North Texas lawn care needs will differ from Western portions of the state.
Once you understand the requirements your environment dictates for your lawn and plant life, then you can dive into a customized lawn care plan. You will need to consider the following:
Select the Right Soil
Choose the Best Turf/Grass
Properly and Routinely Mow
Select the Right Fertilizer
Timing is the final key factor to maximizing your lawn care efforts. Depending on the soil, turf type, and elements of mother nature (rainfall, snow, direct sunlight, etc.), you must time out and plan when your lawn treatments are performed. Bermudagrass, for example, is more naturally adaptable to the year-round conditions of the Eastern half of Texas compared to the Western half. If you plant Bermudagrass in West Texas, you will most likely need extra irrigation throughout the year.
